Associate Dean for Research and Scientific Advancement

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) School of Nursing (SON or the School) seeks an accomplished researcher and collaborative leader to serve as Associate Dean for Research and Scientific Advancement (ADRSA or the Associate Dean). In FY23, UNCG received $67 million in external funding continuing on its consecutive 11-year growth.

As an R2 Doctoral University with high research activity, UNCG’s SON engages in collaborative, interdisciplinary research in community and healthcare settings. The Research Office manages over $2 million in annual funding. In 2023, the School of Nursing, in partnership with Cone Health, opened Minerva’s Mobile Health to deliver healthcare to underserved populations in North Carolina.

Requirements:

The Associate Dean will serve as the driving force behind the School’s research mission, expanding the SON’s research portfolio and cultivating the next generation of researchers. They will bring a breadth of research experience and a successful track record in securing external funding from an array of sources. Minimum qualifications include a Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field.
