The School of Nursing and Chicano Studies Research Center at UCLA seek applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant and Associate Professor of Nursing.
Candidates must hold a PhD in nursing or related fields and demonstrate exceptional promise as a principal investigator. We specifically seek scholars with expertise in or experience serving Latinx communities in the United States. We are looking to recruit exceptional scholars whose teaching, scholarship and mentoring has a demonstrated focus on Latinx experiences in the United States. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment and track record of addressing questions related to Latinx health across the life course and/or ethnic/racial equity in Latinx health and healthcare in the United States. Applicants with expertise in topics such as Latina women’s health, Latinx immigrant health, and other Latinx health issues are invited to apply.
The Office of the Chancellor and the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost have sponsored this search to recruit exceptional scholars whose teaching, scholarship and/or mentoring has strong ties to Latinx experiences in the United States. This search is conducted in partnership between the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center and School of Nursing. Faculty hired through this search will hold their appointment in the School of Nursing and will be expected to maintain an active affiliation with the Chicano Studies Research Center. Requirements include a track record or demonstrated commitment to mentoring and encouraging the success of U.S.-based Latinx and first-generation scholars.
Successful applicants are expected to develop a nationally recognized program and collaborate across disciplines to develop research initiatives promoting research and leadership for the Latino/a communities. Applicants must have the potential to serve as PI on multidisciplinary research teams. Preferred qualifications include a potential or track record of peer-reviewed publications, potential or track record of extramural grant funding (e.g. NIH) and a research focus on primary care, community partnered and/or
participatory research, or adult gerontology with a focus on Latino/a populations.
