Chapter Overview
The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) is comprised of 113 chapters spread over 33 states nationwide.The Metroplex Black Nurses requested affiliate chapter status with the National Black Nurses Association Inc. on February 24, 1999. In April 1999 the Metroplex Black Nurses Association was chartered with 23 members. The organization was incorporated on Nov 2004. Today, the Metroplex Black Nurses Association-Dallas, Inc. (MBNA) is a professional nursing organization composed of Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Nursing Students.
MISSION
Creating a Brighter Future
Our mission is to act as a network to unify and empower Black Nurses, LVNs, and Nursing Students to advocate for optimum quality care and positive health behaviors for black consumers through community service.
MBNA’S PURPOSE
-Create a collaborative arena for community service projects that provide effective education for patients and their families.
-Address health issues in our changing environment.
-Acknowledge cultural issues relating to personal values, needs, and goals for promoting wellness.
-Initiate and maintain positive health behaviors and wellness.
-Create a forum for professional networking.

Students MUST forward directly to the chapter a letter on their school stationary, signed by Nursing Administration stating you are currently enrolled and that you do not have an LPN/LVN or RN License

National Lifetime Dues
$3,000.00 plus annual local dues. After initial LT payment, , local chapter dues are due each year to be a member in good standing. Processing fees will apply.
