Faculty Position – Nurse Anesthesia Pathway Director – Graduate Clinical Programs

The School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications and nominations for a full-time faculty position as Nurse Anesthesia Pathway Director – Graduate Clinical Programs. The Nurse Anesthesia Pathway Director oversees the Post-BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia pathway, providing leadership in curriculum implementation, policy adherence, student academic oversight, and quality improvement in collaboration with graduate clinical education leadership.

Candidates must hold a doctorate in nursing or related field, along with advanced practice certification and licensure. They should have substantial experience as an educator and clinician, complemented by strong leadership, management, and organizational skills. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, mentor others, and achieve measurable outcomes is essential. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of accreditation and professional standards, as well as exceptional communication skills that foster collaboration, strategic action, and effective problem-solving. Rank, tenure, and salary are commensurate with experience. This is not a remote position.

The School is ranked in the top nursing schools nationwide by U.S. News and World Report and offers innovative baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate, master’s, post-master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral programs. Based at the state’s flagship Academic Health Science Center with the third largest public hospital in the nation, the School is a leader in collaborative science and home to the state’s only nursing-specific research initiative with a diverse funding portfolio supporting scholarship in health equity, oncology, palliative care, HIV/AIDS, pediatrics, occupational health, aging, among others, and faculty hold more than 70 appointments in university-wide research centers. The School also is home to state-of-the-art nursing simulation and skills laboratories with some of the most current technology in health care, providing interdisciplinary students, and faculty, hands-on clinical learning experiences to enhance skills development, teamwork, communication, critical thinking and clinical judgement.
